Welcome the Whisperer | Dystopian Fantasy

**open to beta readers or critique partners** The presidential internship is now the best option of having a good life in the United since President Walker delved into his role over fifteen years ago. Three prestigious positions are offered along with other internship roles who all work in The District of the United. Forcing individuals to work and support the government is a challenge on its own, but President Walker is not worried. The Algorithm chose them for a reason. Maya, a daughter, is reminded of her dark past with the doctor and darker shadows constantly reminding her of the future almost ripped away from her. The shadows in the corner of her eyes come back to haunt her as the president chooses her for the second annual internship.. This internship may give her the answers she seeks or force more questions to appear out of thin air similar to the spirits that cling to her. Kai, a daughter of a famous scientist, will do anything for her fathers approval including the internship. Despite not wanting to be told what to do, she will never turn down the chance to outshine others. Completing a dome to protect the city should be easy for a genius especially with the technology literally at her fingertips. Colby, a son running from a religious family blind to their own destruction, is thrown into the gauntlet of the internship as well despite preferring cows over people. The internship is the last thing he wanted, but maybe it will give him a purpose. A purpose to protect those he “loves” and understand what to do with his ability to read people's emotions and energy. With goals changing in an unstable country, Kai must finish the dome due to impending rebellion while Colby and Maya are tasked to find Unique individuals in the international territories of North Empora and Southern Kilaro. Their future graduation is threatened if they do not bring back contracts of individuals willing to partake in future internships. Despite being separated across the globe, each of them discover pieces of the puzzle of why they were chosen. The more Unique individuals they befriend and learn to love, the more they understand that their abilities are not simple parlor tricks and that they are not as unique as once believed. Three viewpoints, three abilities, one story.
