Novel Planning Made Simple
The digital version of the Novel Planners is coming soon... in the form of an app!
The Storyfolk App
I’ve always preferred to plan my stories in a notebook, on cue cards, and, of course, using planners. I’ve found that these methods help me stay focused, organized (in my own ADHD way), and allow my creativity to flow freely. Plotting software always felt intimidating and overwhelming to me, so when so many people asked for a digital version of my novel planner, I wanted to create something that kept planning simple and fun.
That’s where The Storyfolk Novel Planning App comes in—a cozy and intuitive tool designed for storytellers who want to explore and develop their characters, worlds, and magic systems without the complexity of advanced plotting software. Whether you’re crafting mythical creatures, developing villains, or mapping out the heart of your story, this app helps you stay consistent while keeping the process light and fun, just like the novel planners themselves.
What Features To Expect
It will be available for both Apple and Android for mobile and tablet. The first version of the app is tailored specifically for fantasy, but don’t worry! Additional genres, including fiction, romance, sci-fi, historical, and mystery, will follow soon.
The homepage will feature your bookshelf of Works-In-Progress and the ability to add a new story. It will also include links to various resources you might want access to for novel-planning purposes.
Each story is organized by 5 sections; Story, Cast, World, Fauna, and Magic. You can easily toggle between each of these sections like they are tabbed sections of a physical planner. Whether you're brainstorming your next novel or organizing a long-term series, Storyfolk keeps your ideas structured while helping your story grow.

The Features
A secret key feature will be announced after thurough testing!
Story
You are able to establish your blurb, story details, and basic outline using the same structure as the planners. This is meant to be a loose guide over a ridged detailed plot.
Word Count
Set your word count goal and track your progress as you move through the story. You will even be able to identify your progress (ie: planning phase, drafting, editing, published...etc).
Cast
Each cast member is assigned a role and archetype, and you are prompted to provide basic information. Craft their arc, goals, and appearance details!
World
The setting can be small like a dwelling, or large like a whole other world or realm. Explore additional prompts to deepen your understanding of the setting (like the history, culture, politics, and society).
Fauna Field Guide
Put yourself in the role of an ecologist for your world so you can log the unique species/creatures who inhabit the land. Establish their environment, behaviour, and appearance.
Magic System
From curses and spells to mystical objects and deities you can build out each magical element in your story and establish all the necessary details to keep your system grounded and consistent.
