The Heir That Remains
Long ago, the kingdom of Prynth was ruled by the goddess of winter, Krixhena. The land flourished, as she was a merciful queen and loved her people. She passed on her rule to her daughter, and her daughter after her. But one day, the dark god Moranus ravaged her land and laid claim to her rule. Defeated, Krixhena managed to save her granddaughter and hide her away so that one day her child might be able to take back what is theirs. Decades later, we follow Kendra, an assassin under the dark King Galveston of Prynth. She is his prized killer, hunting down suspected magic users and ending their lives to pay back a debt she doesn't understand. She knows nothing of her past, only the memory of her parents' death and the man who caused it. When the crown prince is kidnapped one day from the war college he attends, saving him is Kendra's chance at freedom, her opportunity to be free of the man who killed her parents. But when she meets the prince, she discovers he is far different than she ever imagined. After striking a bargain with him, an episode that nearly costs her her life makes Kendra realize she is far from the powerless assassin she deems herself to be. So begins a journey of love, power, realization and discovering the true power of one's own blood.
