Orrana, a daughter of nobility and responsibility, is chosen to be a soldier of a highly magical city-state known as Razarit. While this life of duty and privilege seems as normal as ever, everything rapidly changes when assassins target Orrana and her family, forcing the soldier-in-training to flee not only to a different country but into an entirely new identity and culture where female warriors are forbidden. She must now navigate how to remain hidden while also upholding her own values to keep herself and her family safe.

This is what I hope to be the final draft before actively querying. I have hired a developmental editor previously who gave me lots of great feedback that I implemented to hopefully get this story ready for the next big step. Overall, I'd like feedback on pacing, world building, main character motivation. I'm happy to receive any other feedback. Anything is helpful and I'm open to all opinions and ideas. I have not hired a line editor and rely mostly on spell check so if there are any spelling​/​grammar errors, I apologize. My previous readers and I have tried to keep them to a minimum, but we are just human.
