All people do is lie, cheat and deceive. Cleo is no different. Most would say air is most precious, for the haze wreaks havoc on their land. Without air one is dead. But without control, insanity follows. Cleo prefers her food sorted before eaten, her plants watered at a specific time and all sensory stimuli dulled. When Cleo gets caught stealing from a farm during her first mission, she loses what she holds most dear — control. Cleo's city pack abandons her, leaving her to work off the debt her packmates stole. The farm is completely different from the polluted city, and the longer Cleo stays, the more she wonders if going back, is even worth it. Defective is a sapphic apocalypse omegaverse that follows Cleo, a 23 year old, who only ever wanted to be accepted into her pack as an equal. Cleo gets caught stealing from Tori’s pack and makes a deal with Tori to work off her debt in exchange for freedom. This story deals heavily with mental health, trauma and death of loved ones.
