Zelia is a cut throat assassin that has an image to maintain, thank you very much. No dresses or smiles for her. In her opinion King Henry is good and just king. Too bad he's about to show his true colors. When Henry sends her to kill King Jayson, a supposed evil and malicious ruler, her eyes are pried open. Upon her arrival in Sikya she witnesses a king nothing like what was described to her. Still she has a job to do and begins to maneuver throughout his court. When a taster dies, and not from Zelia's poison,it becomes clear she's not the only one trying to kill him. But why? And who else wants him dead? The longer she's in Sikya the more she learns about the man under the crown and begins to fall in love with her target. Will she kill him or forsake her life to spare his? To disobey Henry is death.
